Brunch with Ashantae: A Brunch for Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Sex Trafficking Survivors. This annual brunch host 30-50 guest who have been impacted or are supportive of survivors and their journeys.

The Mission

 

Our mission is to create a space for survivors to congregate in love, strength, and compassion. To heal by sharing our stories with others over great brunch, and inspiring entertainment. And lastly, to raise money to support local organizations that are helping those affected by sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or human sex trafficking.

Meet the 2026 Panelist

Kissonda Williams

Kissonda M. Williams is a dynamic speaker, proud mother of three, and co-author of “I Almost Gave Up, But God!, Vol 2,” courageously rebuilding her life after surviving a 16-year toxic relationship. As the CEO of Elite Experience Consulting, Kissonda leads educational consulting efforts while developing the brand into a dynamic umbrella for empowerment, mentorship, and transformative experiences for women. As the creator of The Kiss Corner and co-host of Open Letters to a Survivor, she uses her voice to cultivate community and inspire women to reclaim their worth. Known for her wit and wisdom, she reminds women everywhere that healing begins with choosing themselves.

Dominique Johnson

Dominique Johnson is a visionary nonprofit leader and social impact advocate dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence. As Founder and President of The Prom Project of Michigan, she redefines survivor support by combining celebration, connection, and sustainable resources to promote long-term empowerment.

With over a decade of experience in human services and public policy, Dominique has led transformative programs across education, workforce development, and trauma-informed care. She has partnered with governments, corporations, and community organizations to design data-driven solutions that advance equity and reduce systemic barriers.

Currently pursuing her Doctorate in Public Policy and Administration at Walden University, Dominique continues to champion social innovation and inclusive leadership on a global scale. Her work reflects a deep commitment to building resilient communities and amplifying the voices of those too often unheard.

Nakira Jordan

Nakira Jordan is a program manager and community advocate committed to strengthening families and supporting safe, stable communities. Through both professional work and personal experience, she is passionate about raising awareness around domestic violence and advocating for survivors of sexual trauma, while promoting resources that empower women and children. As a survivor herself, Nakira uses her voice and experiences to help create spaces where healing, support, and education are accessible to those in need. She is also a dedicated wife and mother who believes in creating nurturing environments where families can grow, heal, and thrive.

Ascend Advocacy Agency

Bobbie Benton

Bobbie Benton is the founder and executive director of Ascend Advocacy Agency, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (formerly Wenning Touch Advocacy Agency) dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence through advocacy, education, and empowerment. A survivor and advocate with more than 27 years of human services experience, she provides legal advocacy, emotional support, and trauma-informed services that help individuals move from crisis to stability and healing. In 2020, she created the grant-funded Stop Domestic Violence Program at Alternatives for Girls, where the initiative exceeded expectations and strengthened prevention and advocacy services for survivors. She leads healthy relationship and safety education groups for youth in grades 3 through 12, helping young people build boundaries, self-worth, and violence-free futures. Bobbie is also a self-published author, the creator of the Cut Through the BS healthy relationship card game, and the host of Life Essentials: The Self-Healer’s Journey podcast, where she amplifies stories of healing and resilience. She holds an associate degree in mental health and social work from Oakland Community College and a bachelor’s degree in counseling and psychology from Rochester College, and she is a certified life coach and certified civil mediator.
